New Pokémon Center Summer Collection, Featuring Apparel and Picnic Accessories Enticing Trainers to a ‘Lazy Summer,’ Available Now

Popular Pokémon Illustrator James Turner Creates Bright and Cheerful Retro-Inspired Designs for New Range

LONDON — 2 May 2024 — The Pokémon Company International unveiled the new Pokémon Lazy Summer collection, available starting today at Pokémon Center — the premier online destination for official Pokémon merchandise in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Trainers can enjoy the warm weather in style with apparel and picnic accessories featuring summer-themed illustrations by artist James Turner, who designed a number of Pokémon for the franchise and has contributed to various Pokémon video games since 2002.

Designed with vibrant pastel colours and inspired by cheerful retro artwork, the collection includes T-shirts, tanks, hoodies, hats and pins showcasing Pokémon from the Paldea region and other fan-favourite Pokémon enjoying summer activities in style. In addition, Trainers can get picnic-ready with plates and cups or hit the beach with a summery tote bag featuring Turner’s bright and colourful artwork.

“I like to draw ‘feel-good’ artwork — illustrations that bring a smile to your face or make you feel happy when you look at them,” Turner said. “With this artwork, I hope that the sunny summer setting and the depiction of Pokémon relaxing conveys that kind of feeling. I also enjoy retro artwork and added retro-inspired elements to the artwork, such as the tropical poolside scenes, the surfing Pikachu illustration and the dancing Ditto with boombox illustration.”

Outside of the Pokémon Lazy Summer collection, Trainers can look forward to new additions coming soon to the Pokémon Tropical apparel line, including fresh designs for shirts, tanks, shorts and bucket hats featuring popular Pokémon like Charizard and Snorlax.
